□ Journal: Veritron

□ Series: Transformers IDW

□ Canon point: Post LSOTW

□ History: Here’s the wiki link: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Verity_Carlo

(Running quickly through the -tions) It all started when Verity stole the wrong handheld computer that had images taken of a secret Decepticon base from a covert Machination agent. She left the bus with her stolen loot, and hitched a ride with alien conspiracy nut Hunter O’nion. Meanwhile, the agent had been targeted by the Decepticons for termination, and the handheld for retrieval, so Hunter’s van finds itself the recipient of some VERY unwelcome attention by Thundercracker.

Ratchet, out to investigate the mysterious body (of the Machination agent) rescues the pair after Hunter’s van is destroyed, and they rush to a bolthole—a garage run by one of Verity’s internet buddies, Jimmy Pink.

From here, her life is increasingly entangled with the Autobots.

The three humans convince Ratchet and Bumblebee to explore the Decepticon base, where she runs almost literally into Megatron himself. And then nearly dies as the base itself is under destruction orders by Starscream, who has discovered the properties of Ore-13—a superpowerful variant of energon, and is eager to bury the past, and Megatron.

The Autobots decided it was too dangerous for the humans, and were driving them home when the Machination attacked, ‘killing’ (so it seemed) Sunstreaker and Hunter. Verity was distraught, but the thought that Hunter might be alive kept her going. She and Jimmy nearly die investigating a very dubious rim and car parts shop, until Ironhide rescues them. She brings them the vital link to the Machination in the form of a card she clutched before the toxic gas knocked her out.

Sixshot has been given orders to escalate the plans for Earth, and attacks the Autobots, (I’m compressing a LOT because it's robot politics and not much to do with Verity) and Verity and Jimmy race to warn the others of Sixshot’s arrival, once again putting herself at risk. This time she is seriously injured from the effects of an orbital bounce, but she was revived and the ship left for Garrus-9. She was reunited with Hunter, after his rescue from the Machination and their Headmaster program. (Canon is not clear if she knows that he dies or not so I'm going to say...no.)

Three years after that, she’s joined the Wreckers, apparently never looking back, never homesick for Earth or her old friend Jimmy and Hunter, and is with the Wreckers in their pyrrhic attack on Garrus-9. The former Autobot prison had been taken over by Phase Sixer Overlord, and turned into his personal playground of sadism and the Wreckers are sent to make things right. She stowed away on the drop pod to the planet’s surface, and watched in horror as Rotorstorm was shot point blank in front of her by a laughing Overlord. Pyro was given charge of her safety—he merely crammed her in a chest compartment and forgot about her until they reached the Aequitas chamber.

Here, she witnessed Topspin’s volunteering of his own life to be the essential spark that rebooted Aequitas, allowing them to complete their mission. She thought she’d bonded with Ironfist—the ultimate Wrecker fanboy who had written the semi-official Wreckers chronicles—but was horrified to hear him vote to activate the deterrence chips that would kill any former prisoner of Garrus-9, including fellow Wrecker Impactor. (He later explained Impactor’s crimes to her).

The three of them took down Overlord—Ironfist shot Overlord with deterrence chips, which he then activated with the codes he has from having Aequitas downloaded into his cortex. Even that did not finish Overlord, and Verity stalled him, mocking his megalomaniac attempt to get Megatron's attention, when Megatron was dead and had forgotten all about him. This bought enough time for Impactor's crippling assault, which allowed them to disable Overlord until he could stand trial for his crimes (this is also, sort of, Impactor's redemption).

Ironfist had known was dying—a prototype bullet had been edging its way deeper into his cortex for a long time. And he used what little time he had left to get out of the lab and to live what he had written about all his life. This devastated Verity: the Wreckers had been the only family that she knew and had let herself trust, and now they're gone. The last we see of her, she is finishing Ironfist/Fisitron's last entry in the Wreckers:Declassified, ending with the enigmatic message, after all of the death she witnessed on Garrus 9, that 'life persists.'

□ Personality:

In her early 20s Verity’s been through a lot more than most people go through in a lifetime. She is constantly on the run, on the move. She hates fear, views it as a serious weakness and will avoid and deride anyone showing fear. Something happened in her early life that has made her not trust ‘normal’ people—stable homes terrify her, but she had a network of internet friends she had no problems calling upon or crashing with.

In spite of that, she’s extremely emotional, and quick to form attachments. She’s embarrassed by her emotional breakdowns, the ones that show weakness, and is much more likely to get angry and throw a tantrum, even if what she wants to do is cry. Attempts to console her will piss her off, because she’ll think they are condescending.

The Wreckers are the only family she had—she joined them voluntarily, instead of her usual pattern of running away. For the first time, she belonged, and wanted to belong.

She’s a mover, feeling that staying in one place is like death, stagnation. That was one thing that appealed to her about the Wreckers—always something different. Always on the move. And they showed no fear. Ever. She got along well with them—even answering Rotorstorm’s sexism with her usual brand of nonchalant cheek.

But while she was with them on Garrus-9 she realized something else, something she’s not quite sure she can accomplish. She saw them live as heros, and die as heros as well. No begging, or fear, or pain. She saw Topspin volunteer himself to save his twinspark Twin Twist from unrelenting torture. She saw Rotorstorm stand up to Sixshot and fall without a sound. She saw Pyro, who had pulled such attitude, make a conscious choice that his death was the right one, to save the others. She saw Ironfist take out Overlord with the deterrence chips—he, a sort of outsider himself, trying to live up to what it meant to be a Wrecker. She misses them terribly, not just as friends but as real role models. She saw horrors on Garrus-9, brutalities made even worse by the number and the fact that no one seemed to blink an eye at them. Just…casual horrors. These give her nightmares, which she refuses to talk about.

She values: courage, bravery, toughness. She dislikes cowards and weakness and fear and showing weakness of any kind. Her morals are a little…loose. She spent years blatantly pickpocketing to survive, and she’s defied orders more than once (to investigate the Decepticon base, to go down to Garrus-9, etc). However, she will risk anything—including death—to help her friends.

She’s emotional, as well as intelligent (self taught hacker) and self-reliant. She covers up her emotions with ruthlessly snarky sense of humor. She doesn’t like depending on anyone for anything. She is dubious now of the Autobots—she doesn’t know for sure that Prowl knowingly sent them into a suicide mission, but there are enough pieces she’s put together that she doesn’t automatically trust an Autobot insignia. She considers herself a Wrecker, one of the last standing, rather than an Autobot, and has made it her personal mission to keep their legacy alive.

□ Age: 23-ish.

□ Gender: Female

□ Appearance:

About 5’4”, Verity is Caucasian, has brown eyes and long-ish dark brown hair. She’s athletically built, from a life on the run in bus station to bus station on Earth, and from her time with the Wreckers. She has a small green alien-head tattoo on her right shoulder to commemorate her friend Hunter O’Nion

Note/Question: she doesn't have a great deal of images for icons, so if it's possible, I could find a suitable PB for her?

□ Abilities/Powers:

Verity demonstrates hacking skills and lockpicking skills. She wouldn’t be any good against the authorities here, but she might be able to (with prior OOC permission) break into someone else’s files or room. She apparently (though I can’t imagine it would ever become relevant) pilot a Cybertronian spaceship.

□ Personal Items:

Small handheld computer (which will likely not work here).

Two outfits: tank top and shorts , and a miniskirt and long sleeved top, boots and a hoodie.

Power armor that she has in canon. It is never shown to have weapons but even if they did, they’d be deactivated. It is armor she

can wear, that she can use to ‘skate’ along the roads.
